Lala Seruni || Lombok Folklore

On a night, under the beam of moonlight, King of Lombok named Prabu Kertajagat was heading to Kayangan Temple to worship. Along with him was his wife, family, priests, and some of his men who either held important positions or were highly trusted by him. The full moon that night shone so bright. Di sebuah desa di pulau Tanimbar (Maluku), hiduplah seorang pria kaya bersama istri dan 2 orang anak yang sudah tumbuh menjadi seorang pemuda dan seorang gadis, mereka berdua sangat dimanjakan oleh ayah mereka sehingga mereka mempunyai sifat yang malas dan sombong. Mereka memiliki banyak pelayan yang siap melayani semua keinginan mereka. Sehingga sang ibulah yang menggantikan tugas-tugas para pelayan itu. Mulai dari mempersiapkan makanan, menyapu, mengepel, hingga menyetrika dikerjakan oleh ibunya dengan ikhlas. Namun, sungguh tidak terpuji. Kedua anak itu memperlakukan ibu mereka seperti pelayan. Jika ada yang salah mereka tak segan-segan membentak, seperti seorang majikan yang sedang marah kepada budaknya. Hati ibu yang malang sungguh sangat sakit, tetapi hanya bisa pasrah. Bagimanapun juga, mer
